Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kampala / Entebbe
- Arrive at Entebbe International Airport (EBB) or fly into Kampala, Uganda.
- Pickup by our driver/guide in a comfortable 4×4 car.
- Transfer to your hotel in Kampala. Evening briefing on your 15 days tour and safari.
- Overnight in Kampala.
Day 2: Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
- Morning drive from Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park (approx 5-6 hours).
- Stop en route for lunch and scenic views.
- Afternoon game drive in Murchison Falls: spot elephants, giraffes, buffalo, antelopes and maybe lions.
- Optional boat cruise to the base of the waterfall.
- Overnight in lodge inside or near the park.
Day 3: Murchison Falls – wildlife safari & boat cruise
- Early morning game drive for prime wildlife sightings.
- Late morning relax at lodge.
- Afternoon boat safari on the Victoria Nile to the dramatic waterfall, superb bird watching and hippos.
- Evening sunset drive or nature walk.
- Overnight.
Day 4: Murchison Falls to Kibale Forest National Park
- Early morning departure to Kibale Forest via mid-western Uganda (approx 6-7 hours).
- Arrive in Kibale, check-in at lodge.
- Afternoon walk to a Bigodi Swamp or local community visit.
- Overnight.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale + Bigodi swamp walk
- After breakfast, head into the rainforest of Kibale to track wild chimpanzees (one of the best chimpanzee tracking locations in East Africa). Safari in Uganda+1
- Spend about 1-3 hours with the chimpanzees once found.
- Afternoon nature walk in Bigodi Swamp – bird watching, primates, butterflies.
- Overnight at lodge.
Day 6: Kibale to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Katwe salt flats
- Depart Kibale and drive to Queen Elizabeth NP (approx 2-3 hours).
- Stop at the Katwe salt-mining community for cultural visit and scenic views of the crater lakes.
- Afternoon game drive in Queen Elizabeth NP – look for tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, elephants, buffalo, warthogs.
- Overnight near Queen Elizabeth NP.
Day 7: Queen Elizabeth NP – boat cruise & game drive
- Early morning game drive.
- Mid-morning boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel where hippos and numerous birds gather.
- Afternoon optional chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge (optional depending on your preference).
- Overnight.
Day 8: Queen Elizabeth NP to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Batwa experience)
- Drive south from Queen Elizabeth NP to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (approx 4-5 hours).
- On arrival, visit the local Batwa people – learn about their cultural history, forest life, traditions, music and dance.
- Overnight at lodge near Bwindi.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
- After an early breakfast, head into the misty forest of Bwindi for gorilla trekking – meeting the endangered mountain gorillas is a highlight of any Uganda safari.
- Spend up to an hour observing the gorillas once the group is found.
- Afternoon rest, relax or optional nature walk.
- Overnight.
Day 10: Second gorilla trek OR relax & optional community visit
- You may choose a second gorilla trekking permit (if booked) or take it easier with a forest walk, visit a local village, or a community project.
- Overnight at same lodge.
Day 11: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park
- Drive north-east to Lake Mburo NP (approx 5-6 hours).
- Afternoon game drive or boat ride on Lake Mburo. Spot zebras, impalas, hippos, and enjoy birding.
- Overnight in lodge or safari camp.
Day 12: Lake Mburo – wildlife & bird watching
- Early morning walking safari (unique to Lake Mburo) or game drive.
- Mid-morning relax by the lake or take a nature walk.
- Afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo to see hippos, birds and scenic sunsets.
- Overnight.
Day 13: Lake Mburo back to Kampala
- After breakfast, drive back to Kampala (approx 3-4 hours).
- Afternoon in Kampala: you may visit the city, local craft markets, or relax at your hotel.
- Overnight in Kampala.
Day 14: Departure-day optional excursion OR buffer day
- Use this day for any optional excursion: e.g., a city tour of Kampala, a visit to Jinja and the source of the Nile, craft shopping, or simply rest.
- Overnight in Kampala.
Day 15: Transfer to the airport & departure
- Breakfast and transfer to Entebbe or Kampala airport for your flight home.
